TeaCamp

We meet up for Afternoon Tea, a chat, hopefully a presentation/talk from someone interesting in town, on the first Thursday of each month, at 4pm, until the early evening.

We meet at Cafe Zest, House of Fraser, 101 Victoria St, London. We're looking at finding a new venue. It needs to have:

  • free Wifi
  • seating/ability to colonize
  • drinks: tea/coffees/softs (for starters)
  • convenient for people to get to
  • low (or no) cost.

It's an informal way to talk to others in the field, get your laptop fixed by one of the geeks, moan about wifi, network, and do all of this social networking offline.

Past Teacamps

2009

1st October Blaine Cook who was a lead architect at Twitter is coming to talk to us. We *really* hope there'll be a good turnout for this. If we can provide some numbers to the Café, they'll hopefully be able to accomodate us. If you will be coming (or hope to make it!), please can you hop over to the EventBrite thingy: <http://teacamp200910.eventbrite.com/>. Facebook: <http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=145159945939>

5th November For November (on the fifth!), Steve Dale, a consultant working with the IDeA will be talking about the Knowledge Hub (KHub), a CLG-sponsored open platform development aimed at liberating the innovation potential of the gov/local government sector. The KHub will bring together the social web with semantic web technology to create a marketplace for private and public sector developed applications and mashups.
